Queen Maeve Festival is delighted to present a performance arranged by Cairde Sligo Arts Festival as part of the May Bank Holiday weekend celebrations to mark the official opening of Queen Maeve Square!
From 3pm to 6pm on Saturday May 4th, bring all the family and immerse yourself in a whirlwind of joy at our exhilarating fun-filled day of circus celebrations, suitable for all ages.
2.30pm Grant Goldie, That Man
One man and his suitcase creates a happening of interactive participation, acute absurdity and mesmerising manipulation. Not merely a juggling show; That Man is a wordless performance of charming virtuosity and high skill – more a projectile assault on Gravity. Refreshing, engaging & wholesome.
3.30pm Symmetry Circus, What’s Watt
Old and young gather round! This delightful treat will have you spellbound. For it is the grand unveiling of a new-fangled, slightly mangled kinetic motion machine!!
The road to invention is certainly not smooth … especially if your assistant has a taste for engine oil! Join our pair of batty inventors as they attempt to repair and construct their contraption. Will the calamitous duo get their machine going in the end? A show for all ages featuring acrobatics, hula hooping, escapology, juggling and laugh out loud comedy.
4.30pm Tumble Circus
Join Tina Segner and Ken Fanning for what might just be the best 30 minutes of your life! A funny, flexible, death defying circus of the absurd. Through slap stick acrobatics, hazardous aerial tricks and flying hula-hoops Ken and Tina tell the story of their life in the circus. Contemporary circus at its finest
